I just bought this BB cream yesterday after A LOT of research! There are four BB creams in the Dr. Jart range and I chose the regenerating one as it seemed best for my skin type. I have very oily skin with old acne scarring and still some active blemishes. My colouring is fair - Mac NW20. The colour of this cream is good for me. It matched well on first contact and blends perfectly once buffed in.
I will start by saying on the whole I am very impressed with this. For someone with skin like mine, it has a satisfyingly thick and very creamy texture. If you apply it on the back of your hand then turn your hand upside down, it won't be going anywhere!
APPLICATION:
I apply this with my fingers and find it very easy to do. Despite the texture, it doesn't drag and is very easy to blend. It leaves quite a dewy finish. I'm usually a completely matte girl, I use matte foundation’s and always finish of with powder ( I really do have incredibly oily skin) but the whole reason I bought this BB cream was to try to achieve more of a natural look, especially for use in the mornings or when I'm with my boyfriend and don't want to look like I'm wearing (much) make up. It does tend to go from dewy to shiny after a few hours but since my skin is oily, I'm used to that anyway and think that is more of a skin fault rather than the fault of this cream.
COVERAGE:
When I was thinking about purchasing thick, coverage was the thing I was most anxious about. Although I wanted to go for a more natural look than my usual make up routine, I still am not happy with baring my marked face to all, so coverage was VERY important.
The first thing I think I should do is to remind you that this is a BB cream NOT a foundation! If you are looking to have all blemishes covered, a BB cream alone will never be enough. Some of them (this one included) say they have make up IN them or that make up forms a part of the formula but it is NOT foundation, which is designed to cover imperfections.
Baring that in mind, I thought the coverage was pretty good! The perfect description is one most BB creams use, that is BLURS imperfections. I would use it alone for days when I'm staying inside the house or with some concealer on for more prominent blemishes and powder to tone down the eventual shininess. I put a layer all over my face, then go back and apply another layer to areas of my face with more redness. There is a before and after picture at the end of this review.
FINAL VERDICT:
I think I will be buying this again after this runs out, which I don't anticipate happening soon as a little bit goes a long way! It is without a doubt, the best BB cream I have used. Perfect for the natural look I wanted to go for. Today I have had several comments from people saying I'm glowing - Who don't know that I have bought anything knew. I think this would suit fairly dry skinned people too as it is very creamy and moisturising even though on my oily skin it still looks good and feels comfortable.
I hope this helps other people in researching or deciding whether or not to buy this. Let me know what you think/ thought of it.
